Grategy – Lisa Ryan Speaks

Appreciation Without Expectation

  • Lisa Ryan Chief Appreciaiton Strategist at Grategy trade expectationsMake it a habit to tell people thank you. To express your appreciation, sincerely and without the expectation of anything in return. Truly appreciate those around you, and you’ll soon find many others around you. Truly appreciate life, and you’ll find that you have more of it.” Ralph Marston

When we fall in love with someone, we run on all cylinders, doing everything we possibly can to make that other person happy. However, sometimes, as the years go by, we start to take our significant other for granted and the little things that we used to do for each other become a chore rather than a blessing.

Michele, who inspires other widows though her http://joyreturns.com/ website, shares, “While working at a call center, I had a conversation with a woman who had nothing but nasty things to say about her husband because he made her call and order lawn mower parts. I wanted to scream “You do not know how blessed you are to have a husband!”

Take some time today and think about all the reasons why you love the significant person/people in your life. If you don’t have a spouse, reflect on your relationship with your best friend, your kids, or even your pet (after all, they are our kids too.)

Fully feel the love that attracted you to that person in the first place and make it a point to let them know your thoughts.  If it’s been awhile since your positive words have been expressed out loud, I can assure you that there’s no time like the present – after all, you are giving that individual a gift.
