Grategy – Lisa Ryan Speaks

Being Content With What You Have

Remember, there will always be people on the planet who have more than you, and there will always be those that have less.  Sometimes we spend so much time in discontent because of what’s missing that we forget about the myriad blessings we have. A personal inventory is a practice which gives you the opportunity to detail your abundance.  It also is a tool that reminds you of just how incredible you are.

Take out a piece of paper and make two columns.  In the first column, write down, “I have,” and in the second, “I am.”  Begin filling in the first column with everything you have – material possessions, your health, relationships, anything and everything you can think of.  In the second column, write down the attributes of who you are – creative, kind, passionate, talented, etc.  Write down as many details and examples as possible -the deeper you go, the better.  You may find it difficult at first, but the more you assess the “real you,” the more positive traits you’ll uncover.

Make this a “living list” – review it often and add to it as needed.  You’ll find that the more you focus on the good in your life, the more content you become.
