The busyness of life is something that we all have to deal with from time to time. With so many messages and so much technology assaulting us continuously, it’s tough to ‘get away from it all’ and take a break. Do you remember back in the day – before cell phones? Believe it or not, there was a time before answering machines and voice mail too? If you weren’t home, your friends, family and colleagues simply had to wait for you to get home before they could talk to you. It seems to be a foreign concept now.
Yes, there are important calls we need to take. However, let’s stop being available 24/7 to every single person that wants to talk to us. Schedule some ‘technology-free time’ and let go. Take some time for yourself, go into the silence (meditate or just be still) and listen to what your inner voice is trying to tell you. Your subconscious may be trying to get your attention to show you something truly wonderful. And if you don’t listen, you will never hear exactly what it’s trying to say.
Give yourself just 5 minutes today of “inaccessibility.” Believe me, you and everyone you know will survive. Do it often enough and allow yourself to thrive.
Isn’t it wonderful to “embrace the life that is trying to work its way into your consciousness?”
