Learn from Yesterday, Live for Today – Don’t Stop Questioning

If you have kids, or have ever been around kids, you know that their favorite query is, “Why?”  At what point in our lives did we stop questioning? If the quality of our lives depends on the quality of our questions, how can we start to inquire more?

Learn from yesterday:  In my sales career, I was oftentimes more successful at the beginning of a new job, than once I “knew everything.”  Why?  Because I stopped asking questions. As a result, I stopped discovering the particulars of what my clients really wanted. When I started probing again, I was able to serve my customers better and gain more business in the process.

Live for today:  Sometimes I get so caught up in everything that I have going on that I forget to sit back and enjoy the ride.  By taking a few minutes each day in silent reflection and meditation, I find that I get more done, with less stress and greater appreciation of the journey.

Hope for tomorrow:  No matter what is going on right now, maintain the belief that every cloud has a silver lining.  Just for today, imagine that “the future’s so bright, I have to wear shades.”  Put on a pair of sunglasses and ask what you can do today to create your awesome future.
